The Village of Folsom describes itself as sitting in the rolling hills and towering pines of northwest St. Tammany Parish. That’s out along LA 25, about 12 miles north-northwest of Covington. Those pines shade a house well. They also drop needles, pollen and sap onto the outdoor unit. Once the coil is matted over, the system can’t shed heat. It runs longer, costs more, and can trip off on the hottest days. A lot of folks out here also have a shop, barn apartment or studio set apart from the house.
