Tickfaw is a village of about a square and a half miles, founded in 1852, and it shares its name with the Tickfaw River. That river runs from Mississippi down to Lake Maurepas, through country with swamp along its course. In this wet corner of Louisiana, your A/C has two jobs: cool the air and pull moisture out of it. A unit that only does the first leaves the house cold and clammy. When we come out, we start with a load calculation on your house, so the system is sized to run long enough to dry the air instead of short-cycling. We check the condensate drain line, because in a house that wrings out this much water, a clogged line is often how a ceiling stain starts. We look at the ductwork for leaks that pull damp attic air into your rooms. Then we tell you plainly what we found and what it costs before any work starts.
That’s why we start every Tickfaw visit with a load calculation and moisture readings, then size, seal and drain the system for the house it’s in.

That usually points to a system that’s oversized, low on refrigerant, or short-cycling, so it cools without drying the air. A $99 service call tells you which, and that $99 is credited back when you approve the repair.
Most home installs are done in one day. Permit timing depends on the parish or town; we file it and schedule the inspections for you.
