AIR QUALITY & DUCTS  Where A/C meets restoration

Sticky, musty,
or dripping?
It’s not in your head.

A house can be cool and still feel damp. That moisture feeds mold, sweats through ducts and stains ceilings. We find where it’s coming from and fix the whole loop, not just the symptom: filter it, dry it, fix it.

01  It’s a health issue here

Not a luxury.
Measurable.

High outdoor humidity, older houses and A/C running ten months a year make the air inside your home measurable in mold spores, particulates and humidity, and all three affect how you feel every day.

We hold the commercial mechanical license (CL.08880) and the mold remediation license (MR.12361). CL.08880 lets us service the systems that condition your air. MR.12361 lets us remediate the mold problems bad air creates. Most HVAC companies can change a filter. We can tell you whether the problem is the filter, the coil, the ductwork or the building around the system, and fix it under one accountability line.

WHAT IT USUALLY IS
  • 01Too much humidity. An oversized system cools fast and shuts off before it pulls water out of the air.
  • 02Leaky or sweating ducts.Hot attic air meets cold duct and drips onto the ceiling.
  • 03Growth on the coil or in the return. The system then spreads that smell to every room.
02  What the independent tester measures

Tested by someone
who isn’t us.

Every indoor air quality assessment is done by an independent tester, not by Xero DMG. That’s deliberate: the person who tests your air and makes the clearance call can’t be the person who fixes the problem. You get a written report with the numbers, how they compare to healthy ranges, and a plain-English explanation. We do the HVAC and remediation work the report calls for.

  • 01Mold spore count: the tester’s air samples, inside vs. outside, with species identified when it’s elevated
  • 02Humidity: indoor RH, measured in the living space and at the supply registers
  • 03Particulates: PM2.5 and PM10, the stuff that aggravates asthma and allergies
  • 04Temperature split: supply air vs. return air, which shows whether the coil is performing
  • 05Visual check: coil, drain pan, filter, duct connections, and the attic where it’s accessible
  • 06VOCs: the “new paint” or “new carpet” smell that can linger and cause symptoms
03  What we fix

Find it, fix it,
measure it.

Readings in the rooms, the attic and the ducts before. The fix. The same readings after. If mold is involved and testing is required, we order it from an independent, disinterested third party before and after, and you get the lab report.

  • 01HEPA filtrationA true HEPA system integrated with your HVAC removes 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns and larger: mold spores, dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke. Not a 1-inch filter at the return grille; a dedicated, media-based system sized to your home.
  • 02UV / blue-light purificationA UV-C light at the evaporator coil kills mold, bacteria and viruses on the coil before they grow and before spores enter the air. Blue-light systems add a catalytic surface that breaks down VOCs. They run continuously and add almost nothing to your power bill.
  • 03Whole-home dehumidificationThe big one here. Your A/C dries the air only as a side effect of cooling, and it can’t keep up when it’s 80%+ humidity outside and the thermostat is at 72. A whole-home dehumidifier holds indoor humidity at 45–50%, below the level where mold grows, without overworking your A/C. Portable units can’t do this for a whole house.
  • 04Duct cleaning and sealingIf your ducts are dirty, disconnected or leaking, every fix upstream is undermined. We check, clean and seal ductwork as part of a complete solution, not as a standalone upsell.
  • 05Mold remediation, when it’s gone past the systemIf the independent tester finds mold in the ductwork, the attic or the building materials around the system, we’re licensed to remediate it (MR.12361). Independent third-party testing verifies the work afterward. We don’t grade our own homework. Mold remediation
04  Why it matters

“Indoor air quality
experts” isn’t a
marketing line.

In Louisiana, the license to handle mold is separate from the license to handle HVAC. Most companies carry one or the other. When an HVAC company finds mold, they refer you to a remediation company. When a remediation company finds an HVAC problem, they refer you to an HVAC company. Each one bills you for the diagnosis, and the actual fix falls in the gap between them.

Xero DMG carries both: CL.08880 (commercial mechanical) and MR.12361 (mold remediation). One call, one team, one accountability line. The testing and the clearance call belong to an independent tester with third-party lab reports, because the person who fixes the problem shouldn’t be the person who declares it fixed.

05  Who this is for

Sound like
your house?

  • ✓Families with allergy or asthma symptoms that seem worse at home than anywhere else
  • ✓Homeowners who’ve had a water event (roof leak, pipe leak, flood) in the last 12 to 24 months
  • ✓Anyone whose A/C smells musty when it kicks on
  • ✓Homes with indoor humidity above 55% (a $15 hygrometer from the hardware store will tell you)
  • ✓Anyone buying a home: an independent assessment before you close tells you what you’re walking into
06  Questions

Straight answers.

How much does an indoor air quality assessment cost?

Standalone assessments are coordinated with an independent third-party testing firm. Call (504) 702-1480 for current pricing.

Do I need an assessment if my A/C seems fine?

If anyone in the house has allergy or asthma symptoms, yes. If your indoor humidity reads above 55% on a hygrometer, yes. If you’ve had a water event in the last 12 months, yes. If none of those apply and your A/C runs clean and quiet, you’re probably fine, but a baseline reading from an independent tester is still worth getting once so you have a number to compare against later.

What’s the difference between a UV light and a HEPA filter?

A UV light kills biological contaminants (mold, bacteria, viruses) at the coil before they enter the air stream. A HEPA filter removes particulates (spores, dust, pollen, dander) from the air stream as it passes through. They solve different problems and are often installed together.

Will a whole-home dehumidifier lower my A/C bill?

Yes, indirectly. When indoor humidity is controlled on its own, you can set your thermostat 2–3 degrees higher and feel the same comfort, because the “feels like” temperature is driven by humidity as much as temperature. Your A/C also runs less because it’s not trying to dry the whole house.

Are you licensed for mold remediation?

Yes. MR.12361, Louisiana. We’re one of the few companies in the area carrying both the mechanical and the mold remediation licenses.

Restoring what
was lost.

Your comfort, your air, your home, back the way it should be.
